Health & Safety: Falco Zanini

Born 1962 Falco serves the Entertainment Industry since 1980. He started as a stagehand in his hometown Hannover in Germany and worked also as stagehand, climber and crew chief.

 

After some years on the road with Trucking Service, Cologne he founded a crew-staffing company and started to implement proper safety measures for the crew.  

 

He then graduated as „Meister für Veranstaltungstechnik“ dealing with event safety and premises licensing application. Always interested in workplace health and safety he completed the german OSHA courses to become Fire Safety Advisor, Health and Safety Advisor and CDM-Coordinator.

 

Nowadays his work consists in H+S Consulting for the Entertainment Industry with customers ranging from the small garage-size rental company up to internationally well-known suppliers. Also he holds speeches and offers trainings on business-related topics. Another part of his work is conducting premises licensing for concerts and Open-Air festivals as well as coordinating H+S following CDM-Regulations.

 

He is active in three trade associations and writes in several magazines as the VPLT-Magazine and Event-Partner.

Sustainability: David Stubbs

David is an internationally recognised leader in sustainability, environmental management and conversation biology.

 

Much of his career has centered on sustainability management of sport and major events. He led the award-winning sustainability programme of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, widely recognised as the most sustainable Games in modern Olympic history.

 

He now works as an independent sustainability expert advising organisations and major projects throughout the world. He served on the IOC's Evaluation Commission for the 2020 Summer Games and 2022 Winter Games, and provides regular strategic advice on sustainability to the IOC. Other major clients incude UEFA and the World Economic Forum.

 

Before London 2012, he spent 15 years working on environmental aspects of golf course development and management of behalf of the Game's governing bodies in Europe.

He is a founder member and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management and a Visiting Professor of Sustainability at the University of East London.
